The Reverend Jacqueline D. Gilchrist

Reverend Jacqueline Gilchrist

Reverend Jacqueline Gilchrist is a native of Stamford, Connecticut and has served in ministry since February 14, 1993.  She realizes that the growing population of un-churched people, within our society, presents a great challenge, but she also sees it as a great opportunity to reach the world with God’s love.  Her desires in ministry are to make a difference in the world one life at a time, by sharing God’s liberating, empowering and transforming message of love in a creative, practical and relevant way.  She desires to break down racial, ethnic, religious, denominational, social, and economic barriers, in order to build a multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-generational community of faith that reflects God’s Kingdom on Earth.

Reverend Gilchrist has a gift for relating to young people.  Among her most fulfilling achievements are, her work at Union Baptist Church in Stamford, CT., serving as the Youth Minister for over 10 years, her service as Senior Pastor of the Black Church at Yale, at Yale University in New Haven, CT., and teaching as an Adjunct Professor at the College of New Rochelle in New York.  Since 2015 she has had the honor of serving in Stamford, CT., as the Senior Pastor of North Stamford Community Church, a multi-racial and historical community of faith that is in partnership with the United Church of Christ.  Continuing in her call, she strives to reach the secular community that requires a more contemporary method towards building a relationship with God.

Reverend Jacki and her husband, Victor, have been married for 35 years and have two sons and 1 grandson, Brandon, Drake and Ethan.  She earned an Associate in Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Norwalk Community College and graduated in May, 2003 from The College of New Rochelle with honors, receiving a B.A. Degree in Letters and Religious Studies.  On May 22, 2006, she graduated from Yale Divinity School earning a Master of Divinity Degree.  She is presently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry degree at Hartford Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut.

Reverend Jacki is clear about her purpose in life, which is to help build God’s people and God’s kingdom here on earth.  Her personal life’s motto is: “I will never give God anything less than my best”.  In her spare time, Reverend Jacki enjoys reading, listening to good music, eating out, going to the movies, playing golf, boating, water and  jet skiing, motor cycle riding, traveling to new places and spending time with her family and close friends.
